BA Flight Crew Strikes

The union confirmed yesterday that it called on its BA flight attendant members to conduct a three-day strike Jan. 29-31. It also warned of two additional three-day stoppages starting Feb. 5 and Feb. 12 unless there is a deal. About 11,000 of BA's 14,000 cabin crew are T&G members.

Last-ditch agreement helps avert BA strike -

A threatened two-day strike at British Airways this week was called off yesterday after the airline hammered out a last-minute deal with unions. But the accord with cabin crew unions will come too late to prevent some disruption to flights at London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports today and tomorrow, the airline added.

BA announced last week it would have to cancel 1,300 flights to and from London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports today and tomorrow because of a planned strike by the cabin crew branch of the Transport and General Workers Union over pay and sick-leave policy.
