Lost Airline Luggage Turns Up Found in Trash
HOUSTON (Dec. 27) - Tuesday dozens of pieces of air travelers luggage were discovered in a trash container behind a pet store in Houston.
The FBI said more than 60 pieces of luggage from various international flights were involved. The luggage was taken to Continental Airlines for sorting.
The bags originated from George Bush Intercontinental Airport, said Sgt. Dana Wolfe, a spokeswoman for the Harris County Sheriff's Office who said some of the luggage was destined for London and Dubai.
The Houston Police Department is working on this case and had no additional details Tuesday night.
A spokesperson for Continental, said they didn't know if the contents of the bags were stolen.
The airline is working with other carriers to match the bags with lost luggage claims, but the names of the other airlines involved were not provided.
The luggage was discovered by the owners of the pet store.
